Events for Big Kids

  1. Read to the Dogs

    November 29, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Children's Room

    Practice your reading to one of our friendly and adorable trained therapy dogs. Grades 1-5, with adult. To register call the Children's Division (503) 350-3600 or stop by the Children's Desk on the first floor of the library. Registration begins one month before the program.

  1. Little Women Party

    November 23, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Meeting Rooms A and B

    Join Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy as we play games, make crafts, and read stories like Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. Co-hosted with the Beaverton Civic Theatre. Ages 2-12 with family, drop-in.

  2. Family Movie

    November 26, 2:00 PM @ Library Auditorium

    Watch a recently released movie suitable for the whole family! Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Storytimes

  1. Family Storytime

    November 22, 1:00 PM @ Storytime Room

    Family storytime is open to all ages and can be enjoyed by the whole family. We share books, fingerplays, action rhymes, sing songs, and get up and move to music! Storytime always concludes with a simple and fun craft that goes with the day’s theme.

  2. Spanish Storytime

    November 22, 3:00 PM @ Storytime Room

    -Stories -Songs -Rhymes -Fingerplays -Crafts Spanish Storytime is told only in Spanish.

  3. Toddler Storytime

    November 25, 10:15 AM @ Storytime Room

    Toddlers will enjoy this interactive storytime that includes books, action songs, rhymes, flannelboard stories, and other fun activities that will encourage a love of reading and books! There is also a simple craft to do or take home at the end of each storytime. Limited to first 50 people.

  4. Toddler Storytime

    Toddlers will enjoy this interactive storytime that includes books, action songs, rhymes, flannelboard stories, and other fun activities that will encourage a love of reading and books! There is also a simple craft to do or take home at the end of each storytime. Limited to first 50 people.

    Wear your pajamas or bring your favorite stuffed animal friend! Everyone is welcome to enjoy stories, songs, and crafts that will help your family spend quality time together before getting ready for bed.

  6. Fun For 1s

    This storytime is designed for 1-year-olds and features fun with bubbles, songs, short books, and rhymes.The last 15 minutes are set aside for playtime with developmental toys and board books related to the theme that parents can check out! There is also an interactive craft that promotes early literacy, fine motor, and language skills. These crafts can be made at storytime or taken home to enjoy.

  7. Fun For 1s

    This storytime is designed for 1-year-olds and features fun with bubbles, songs, short books, and rhymes. The last 15 minutes are set aside for playtime with developmental toys and board books related to the theme that parents can check out!   8. Baby Bugs

    November 26, 11:45 AM @ Storytime Room

    Come and join us for a fun and interactive Baby Bugs Storytime! In the first 15 minutes, babies and their caregivers will move and listen to songs and books or rhymes and songs. In the last 15 minutes, there is playtime with developmental toys and books which include a special collection of soft books and board books that can be checked out. Occasionally there is also a special activity like Memory Books or Texture Boards to do at the conclusion of storytime.
