  1. Read to the Dogs

    May 25, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Children's Area

    Children read to a Delta Society Therapy dog trained to listen carefully to all kinds of books! For kids in grades 1-5. To register for a program call the Children’s Division (503) 350-3600 or stop by the Children’s Desk on the first floor of the Library. Registration begins one month before each program.

    Mark Shapiro of LAIKA, the local animation company that produced such hit films as "Coraline" and "ParaNorman", takes you behind the scenes with inside information about how "ParaNorman" was made. He’ll present time-lapse imagery and rare footage as he describes the major undertaking involved in the production of these remarkable animated films. All Ages. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
