The Volunteer Program
Our volunteer program is essential to the daily operation of the Library with over 400 volunteers contributing nearly 20,000 hours of their time and talents each year. Library volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and their contribution to the Library community is immeasurable – assisting in circulation, reference, computers, children’s and teen services, processing, interlibrary loans, mending and other special projects.

Who We Need
We need volunteers to be 14 years or older and work a minimum of two consecutive hours each week for at least three months.

How to Volunteer
Submit a Volunteer application:
  • Pick one up at the General Information or Circulation desk, or

Return your application to one of our service desks or mail to:
Beaverton City Library
Attn: Volunteer Manager
Address: 12375 SW Fifth Street
Beaverton, OR 97005

If there are current openings that match your interests, the volunteer manager will contact you for an interview.  If a suitable position is not available at the time of your interview, your application and interest inventory will be placed in a resource file.  As positions become available, you will be contacted.

Some positions may require a thorough background check, particularly if you will be working with patrons unsupervised.
