Good stuff! I'd watch this one again.
Cameron--the new kid--falls for Bianca the first time he sees her. She's sweet, funny & popular. But Bianca is cursed with an overprotective father who won't let her date until her melodramatic, ill-tempered, boy-hating sister, Kat, does (which is very unlikely!). In hopes of solving this dilemma, Cameron singles out the only guy who could possibly work for Kat: Patrick Verona. Although at first this seems like another teen flick or romantic comedy, it doesn't have the sense of shallowness (or in some cases stupidness or boringness) that other films in the genre have. I admit the plot was a bit predictable, but what points it lost there, it gained back through its witty humor & its awesome soundtrack. Reasons why you should watch the movie: 1. It's an updated version of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. 2. Health Ledger's character belting out show tunes on the bleachers of the football field. 3. Julia Stiles' character backing her car full-speed into a shiny new sports car. 4. It features songs from Letters to Cleo(Kay Hanley was the singing voice for Rachel Leigh Cook in Josie & the Pussycats.
