Library interior

Washington County Library cards are available free of charge to all residents of Washington, Multnomah, Clackamas or Hood River counties in Oregon; or Clark, Klickitat and Skamania counties in Washington. To apply for a card, complete an application and present it at the Circulation Desk with identification and proof of address, such as a state issued driver’s license or ID card, printed checks, a rent receipt or a piece of first-class mail. Applicants under the age of 16 also need to have their applications signed by a parent or guardian.

Patrons who live outside the service area described above may obtain a Washington County library card for an annual user fee of $95.00. A free "courtesy card" may be issued to non-residents who can provide evidence that they work within Beaverton city limits.

Patron Responsibilities

All patrons are responsible for returning borrowed items by the due dates and for paying all accrued fines on late, damaged or lost items. Please be sure to call the library immediately if your library card is lost or stolen, since you are responsible for all items checked against your card until we are notified and can block your card against unauthorized use. Patrons are also responsible for notifying the library of any change of their address or telephone number.

Your Patron Account

With your library card you can access your patron account online to check the status of materials checked out or on reserve, renew items, or change your password. Access to your account begins at the WCCLS home page located on any public access terminal at the library, or by visiting the Washington County Cooperative Library Service (WCCLS) web site at www.wccls.org. Once there:

  • Click on the "Patron Account" link in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen.
  • Enter your complete library card barcode without any spaces or dashes.
  • Enter your password. (The default password is the last four digits of your home phone number unless you specify something else to library staff.)
  • Click on the "Log On" button.
  • When you have completed all transactions, click on the "Log Off" button to close your account information.
