January: Read Call Me American by Abdi Nor Iftin, this year's One Book, One Beaverton pick.
February: Read an #OwnVoices book. #OwnVoices refers to a book that was written by a member of a marginalized community that depicts that same community through its characters and setting.
March: Celebrate Women’s History Month! Read a book by or about a woman/women in science (fiction or non-fiction).
April: Read a book written by someone under 35 years of age.
May: Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! Read a book by an Asian, Pacific Islander, or Asian-American author.
June: Celebrate Pride Month! Read a book by an lgbtq author or about someone from the lgbtq community.
July: Read a travel adventure (fiction or non-fiction).
August: Celebrate serendipity! Read a book that you find serendipitously while browsing the shelves at the library or bookstore (or virtual library). Try and choose one that you’ve never heard of!
September: Read a book about an issue that is important to you.
October: Read a book that crosses genres (like a fantasy/mystery or romantic thriller).
