Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Beaverton City Library. In March 2020, both library buildings were closed due to Covid-19 and our thriving volunteer program was put on pause. We miss working closely with our wonderful community volunteers - they are, in many ways, the best part of the library - and we look forward to welcoming volunteers back into the buildings when it's safe to do so.
Introducing the Remote Volunteer Program
Our volunteers continue to be a valued part of the library team. With in-person volunteering on pause, we want community members to continue to be able to support the library. Many volunteers are chomping at the bit to get back into the library and reestablish their volunteer routine. Some of you may be stressed about needing to complete Service Learning hours. New, interested community members are eager to support their library. Whatever your motivation, we have put together some remote volunteer opportunities for volunteers of all ages in support of the library, the Beaverton community, and more. Some examples include:
Reading a book and writing a review
Editing a book review
Writing to elders
Transcribing Library of Congress documents
Supporting animal rescue
Mowing a neighbor's lawn
Find more details on our Remote Volunteer Opportunities list. This document will be updated at least once a month, so check back for more opportunities.
