ARkStorms & Climate Change in the Pacific Northwest

In Jamie Ford's novel, The Many Daughters of Afong Moy, a future version of Seattle is plagued by ARkStorms (atmospheric rivers) that bring torrential rain and flooding to the greater Pacific Northwest. Paul Loikith, Director of PSU’s Climate Science Lab, will discuss the reality of climate change in the Northwest, the science behind atmospheric rivers, and how they and other types of weather are likely to change in the future.
