 & Tree Lighting Event 2025

Friday, Dec. 5,  4-8 PM
Beaverton City Park near from Main Library

Get ready to kick off the 2025 winter season at the Beaverton Winter Lights & Tree Lighting. Bring the whole family for an evening of festive fun, featuring live performances by local musicians, special guests, and activities for all ages.

The Main Library will also be open until 8pm on Dec. 5. Drop in to warm up, dry off, and take a festive photo at one of the fun backdrops.

Library Hours during Winter Break

Beaverton City Library is a great place to visit when school is closed! We are open our normal hours during winter break except for the following holidays:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 24: Closing at 5 PM
  • Thursday, Dec. 25: Closed for Christmas
  • Wednesday, Dec. 31: Closing at 5 PM
  • Thursday, Jan. 1: Closed for New Year’s Day

 Everyone can check out books, movies, games, use the computers, enjoy a scavenger hunt, and see all the special events happening at the library!

Practice Battles during Winter Break

Wednesday, Dec. 31, Doors open at 10 AM

Attention all 3rd-5th grade OBOB readers! Beaverton City Library is hosting OBOB Practice Battles on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 10 AM. We’ll ask library-created questions from all 16 of this year’s Oregon Battle of the Books, so gather your team and prepare to battle!  Team can’t make it? Register as an individual and we’ll place you on a team for these practice battles. Register at www.BeavertonLibrary.org/OBOB  starting Nov. 30.

OBOB Coordinators—After the battles, we will post all our practice questions on our website. Visit www.BeavertonLibrary.org/OBOB  for unofficial questions you can use for free!

One Book One Beaverton 

Donate Cold Weather Essentials to Help our Beaverton community

Dec 1, 2025- Jan. 31, 2026

Please donate your new or gently used adult-sized winter coats, gloves, hats, and socks (clean and in good condition). Donated items will be distributed by our partners at Project Homeless Connect and will directly impact the people they serve at the library and in the surrounding Beaverton community. Collection bins will be located at Beaverton City Library Main and Murray Scholls. Thank you for your support!
