    Explore the nuance of intergenerational workspace and management styles with Marilyn Scott, a retired Intel Manager. Common conflicts may arise among mixed generations, in job hunting, within work environments, or in the collaborating phase of a startup process. No matter what, a thorough overview of the differences present among generations will provide insight to you in your own individual situations. Scott's professional background is in organization development, human resources, communication and management effectiveness. Prior to Intel, she was an HR Director for the American Red Cross. She is currently Chairperson of the Portland Chapter of SCORE. Free and open to the public; no registration required.

  1. Trick or Tweets: Tell a Scary Story in 15 Lines or Less

    Trick or Tweet! Submit a scary story using 15 lines or less. Contest guidelines and entry forms will be available in PDF form at www.BeavertonLibrary.org/Teens (on the Events and Contests pages) starting the last week of September. Entries can be submitted at either the main library or the Murray Scholls branch. Entries due by 9 p.m. at the main library and 8 p.m. at the branch on Tuesday, October 24. Grades 6-12.

    Toddlers will enjoy this interactive storytime that includes books, action songs, rhymes, flannelboard stories and other fun activities that encourage a love of reading books! There is also a simple craft to do or take home and enjoy at the end of each storytime. Limited to the first 50 people. Ages 2-3.
