    Kendy Pearson presents "Hone Your Craft." Former high school teacher Kendy Pearson leads two writers' critique groups, between writing curricula and fiction for children and adults. In recent years, numerous periodicals have published more than 200 of her articles. Since 2014, she has completed several children's books and three historical novel manuscripts, for which she has earned two Cascade Awards, a Genesis Award, and six finalist rankings.   2. Portland Opera Preview: "The Barber of Seville"

    Enjoy musical highlights from Rossini’s opera, "The Barber of Seville," by Portland Opera's Resident Artists. Hosted by Chorus Master and Assistant Conductor Nicholas Fox. Count Almaviva has fallen for the charming Rosina, and enlists the help of the town barber, Figaro, to assist in winning her affection. Together, they try to outwit her guardian, Dr. Bartolo, who also vies for her hand (and inheritance). Classic shenanigans and twists promise to delight audiences both young and young at heart in one of the greatest bel canto comic operas of all time. Free and open to the public; no registration required.
