Teens in grades 6-12 can participate in the Teen Summer Reading program, and adults can participate in the Adult Summer Reading program.
If you are entering 6th grade in the fall, you get to participate in the Teen Summer Reading program!
Just sign up and read or be read to for 15 hours. Then come back to get your prizes!
Not at all! You can read fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels and comic books, newspapers, magazines, eBooks, blogs and more. You can listen to someone read to you or listen to an audio-book - even reading the cereal box when you eat breakfast counts as reading in the Summer Reading program.
You can spread out your reading however you’d like - we recommend you read at least 20 minutes a day. If you don't read for a whole hour at a time, you can color in a partial shape in your Reading Log. For example, if you read 20 minutes, then you color in one third of a shape. Color in half of a shape for 30 minutes, a quarter of a shape for 15 minutes, and so on.
We are so happy that you like reading so much! Please keep reading! Because we have a limited number of prizes, we can only give rewards for the first 15 hours that you read.
